Ready for freedom? Get hair, style and body ready with our top tips for the 19th July

The days of socialising in a friend’s garden wearing a woolly hat and thermals are thankfully behind us. On the plus side, the tyranny of “hat hair” mercifully never took hold this winter, largely because there was never an occasion to take off one's hat. There will be very few of us who are sad to see the back of lap blankets, cold feet and calling it a night at 9.30pm. With socialising now indoors, there is no more hiding - brushing and styling your hair is now top of the list.

So-called "Freedom Day" beckons (pending a final government say-so), and on the 19th July 2021 it's no longer criminal to be in large groups of people and lockdown officially ends in England. So, whether your clubbing look needs an overhaul, your festival chic needs a tweak or you’re bursting to jostle at the bar like in the olden days, you'll need to get grooming. There's no more hiding under bobble hats!

With all of these new places to go and friends to see, you're going to need your strength. Read our top 3 tips for keeping your hair, your style and your skin strong for the months ahead. Happy socialising!

Freedom Day beckons, keep your hair strong

You don’t need an excuse to treat your hair to some special treatment but booking in some exciting social events could be the nudge you need. Half the fun of a big night out can be the getting ready, so have a relaxing bath, prepare your outfit, and layer on a hair mask. The Blond Absolu Masque Cicaextreme by Kerastase is a luxury hair mask and is enriched with hyaluronic acid, strengthening the hair fibre by up to 94%.

If you’ve been scraping your hair back into a ponytail these last few months, you may have noticed your hair is now more prone to breakages. Hair elastic can weaken the hair strands over time, especially if you have a ponytail in the same place each day. Alongside styling your hair down, or changing to a higher or lower ponytail, you could also try a fortifying shampoo. Fortifying shampoos, such as Genesis Bain Hydra-Fortifant Shampoo by Kerastase reinforce hair fibres to strengthen hair and prevent breakages.

These little changes to your routine can make a big difference, keeping your hair strong for any new going out styles you want to try.

19th July, the countdown to good styling

With the pubs heaving again and sweaty, crowded nightclubs re-opening, your hairstyle is going to need some serious strength. With temperatures rising, inside and out, try an up-do to keep your hair off your face. There are a range of products to help keep your style in place all night long.

For the best results, don't freshly wash your hair before attempting an up-style, as your hair may feel too silky and may lose shape. However, if your curly hair needs a refresh between washes, try Fresh Absolu Second Day Reviving Spray by Kerastase to reignite your curls ready to style.

If your hair tends to be a bit flat, or is thinning, try a thickening mousse, such as Kerastase Densifique Densmorphose Mousse to give your hair some much-needed body before you style your up-do. And finally, a quick blast of hairspray to keep your style in place.

End of lockdown, strength from within for great skin

With all this socialising, maybe drinking, and definitely late nights, your skin may feel the effects. Falling asleep in front of the television and diligently taking your make-up off before an early night might now seem in the dim and distant past. With all this new going out, give your skin some strength from within and include some omega into your routine. Omega 3 can be found in fish oils, and are easy to include into your diet with supplements, such as Advanced Nutrition Omega 3 capsules.

Omega 3 contains fatty acids and has important health benefits for your heart, brain and eyes. In addition to this, omega 3 fatty acids can have huge benefits to your skin's hydration, good news after a late night.

For a broader supplement that will help keep you feeling and looking great, try a general supplement, such as the Pro-Vitality Formula supplement.
